Gadarpur–Rudrapur, July 26, 2026: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) battalion at Gadarpur during his one-day visit to the area and reviewed the state’s disaster preparedness mechanisms with officers and personnel.
At the battalion, Dhami interacted with NDRF officials and jawans to understand their working system, training, readiness for disaster response and arrangements for rescue and relief operations. He said Uttarakhand is highly sensitive to natural disasters, which makes the role of institutions like NDRF critical for safeguarding lives and ensuring swift relief during emergencies.
The Chief Minister said the state government is continuously working to make the disaster management system more modern, robust and effective, so that coordinated action can be taken quickly in any crisis. He praised the courage, dedication and service spirit of NDRF personnel, noting that they protect human lives with full sincerity even in adverse conditions. He added that their discipline, efficiency and commitment are an inspiration for the entire country.
During the visit, Dhami also planted saplings in the NDRF campus and called environmental conservation a collective responsibility. He urged people to undertake more tree plantation and take a pledge to protect the planted trees, saying plantation is not only a means of protecting the environment but also the foundation of a secure future for coming generations.
Dhami asked officials to give priority to modern technology, regular training and better coordination among different agencies in the field of disaster management, so that relief and rescue work can be carried out more effectively whenever a disaster strikes.
Senior NDRF officers briefed the Chief Minister about the battalion’s functioning, available resources, training activities and past disaster relief and rescue operations.
The programme was attended by Minister-in-Charge Pradeep Batra, MLAs Arvind Pandey and Shiv Arora, Trilok Singh Cheema, Mayor Deepak Bali, Vikas Sharma, BJP district president Manoj Pal, District Magistrate Nitin Singh Bhadoria, Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Ganpati, Commandant Santosh Kumar, CMO Paraminder Singh, Deputy Commandant Deepak Bhatt, Rajendra Joshi, Avneesh Purohit, Manoj Joshi and NDRF jawans.
