Women of Madhya Pradesh: From Job Seekers to Job Creators

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the women of Madhya Pradesh are no longer job seekers but job creators, driving the engine of a self reliant India. Speaking at the MP Excellence Awards 2025 organized by Bhopal Women Hub, Dr. Yadav noted that women entrepreneurs are now leaving their mark not only in agriculture, handicrafts, and food processing but also in biotechnology, design, and technology led startups.

With over 47 percent of the state’s startup ecosystem comprising women, Madhya Pradesh stands as a rising hub of inclusive entrepreneurship. Through the Lakhpati Didi Scheme, more than one lakh women now earn over Rupees one lakh annually. Over 62 lakh women associated with five lakh self help groups are driving economic change across rural Madhya Pradesh, undertaking production, packaging, marketing, and branding ventures that contribute directly to household income and regional growth.

Dr. Yadav described this transformation as the new renaissance of women led enterprise. “Women are stepping from the margins to the markets, from self help to self reliance,” he said. Extending greetings for Chhath Puja, he emphasized that Indian culture venerates women as embodiments of wisdom, prosperity, and strength, requesting Saraswati for knowledge, Lakshmi for wealth, and Durga for power. Ensuring women’s education, health, safety, and independence, he said, remains the government’s highest priority.

Calling social media a powerful agent of empowerment, the Chief Minister noted that platforms have become vital spaces for women’s entrepreneurship, leadership, and visibility. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a Kathak dance by young girls, followed by short films highlighting Madhya Pradesh’s strides in women’s empowerment, industrial growth, and social welfare under Dr. Yadav’s leadership.

During the awards, Dr. Yadav honored achievers across two categories for excellence in innovation, social service, sports, and entrepreneurship. The recipients, including Gauranshi Sharma, Bhavana Dehria, Siddhi Mishra, Shanti Devi, Sangita Rajgir, and Somit Dubey among others, represented the state’s emerging generation of creative and resilient citizens shaping a more equal and prosperous Madhya Pradesh.
