MP Leaders Hail Union Budget 2026 as Blueprint for Developed India; Statewide BJP Workers Tune in to Live Broadcast

Bhopal/Indore/Betul, Feb 1: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, BJP State President and MLA Hemant Khandelwal, and Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda on Sunday listened to the live broadcast of the Union Budget 2026 along with party leaders, public representatives, workers, and citizens at different locations in the state, and described the budget as a decisive step toward building a developed India.

Dr. Yadav attended the live broadcast in Indore, Khandelwal in Betul, and Devda at the BJP state office in Bhopal. Across Madhya Pradesh, BJP workers organized screenings at the mandal level to collectively watch and listen to the budget presentation.

Budget will accelerate India’s march toward development: CM

Speaking after the broadcast at Daly College in Indore, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said the Union Budget presented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would play a crucial role in achieving the goal of a developed India. He said the budget reflects the spirit of inclusive growth and meets the expectations of all sections of society.

He noted that reforms in the textile sector would significantly benefit Madhya Pradesh’s textile industry. The provision of Rs 1.4 lakh crore in grants for states would support the development of Madhya Pradesh and other states. According to him, the budget would strengthen India’s position in the global economy.

Dr. Yadav highlighted special focus on the poor, youth, farmers, and women, and said the budget would boost economic growth while fulfilling public aspirations. He welcomed provisions for upgrading district hospitals, calling it a historic step in the health sector. He also pointed to plans for urban development, women’s hostels in every district, promotion of pilgrimage centers in smaller cities, and easier tax processes for small taxpayers.

He added that India’s emergence as a biopharma hub, expansion of clinical trial infrastructure, and focus on care ecosystems for the elderly would strengthen healthcare access and reduce the cost of treatment for serious diseases.

On the industrial front, he said textile sector reforms, manufacturing expansion, research and development, and greater use of artificial intelligence would contribute to long-term growth. Tourism initiatives, including better guide facilities and tax relief for foreign tourists, would generate employment and accelerate tourism development in Madhya Pradesh.

Budget lays strong foundation for next decade: Khandelwal

BJP State President Hemant Khandelwal described the budget as a roadmap that would shape India’s development trajectory over the next ten years. He said the focus on strategic sectors such as rare earths, chip manufacturing, real estate, and logistics would enhance India’s competitiveness globally.

He welcomed the proposal for a dedicated freight corridor to reduce logistics costs and strengthen trade, as well as the Rs 10,000 crore “Biopharma Shakti” initiative aimed at building a domestic ecosystem for biologics and biosimilars. The announcement of a girls’ hostel in every district, he said, was a major step toward safety and education for young women.

Khandelwal called the budget a relief for honest taxpayers and the middle class, noting that reduced penalties and simplified tax provisions signal a shift toward a trust-based tax system. He added that enhanced incentives for electronics manufacturing, MSME growth funds, and investments across manufacturing, infrastructure, health, tourism, AI, and rural development present a clear blueprint for “Developed India 2047.”

Budget dedicated to common citizens: Devda

Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda said the budget, aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India by 2047, focuses on the four priority groups of the poor, farmers, youth, and women. He said investments in infrastructure, health, education, employment, and waterways would accelerate economic growth and improve living standards.

He welcomed tax relief on treatment for serious illnesses and the expansion of national waterways, calling the budget forward-looking and people-centric.

Statewide outreach campaign begins

BJP State General Secretary Rahul Kothari said the party has launched a statewide “Budget Publicity Campaign 2026” from February 1 to 15. Press conferences will be held across districts and divisions between February 2 and 10, addressed by Union ministers, senior party leaders, and state ministers.

The campaign will include dialogues with youth, students, farmers, women, workers, and traders, along with local meetings, public discussions, and panel debates in major cities to explain the provisions of the budget to citizens.
