Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has lauded the Union Budget 2026-27 as a pivotal step toward achieving Viksit Bharat@2047 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Presented on February 1, 2026, the budget accelerates development, boosts economic progress, fulfills public aspirations, and embodies Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. It places special emphasis on the poor, youth, farmers, and women, aligning seamlessly with national priorities.
Key provisions promise substantial benefits for Madhya Pradesh. Allocations for urban development in cities with over 5 lakh population, Rs 5,000 crore over five years for urban economic zones, pilgrimage site upgrades in smaller towns, one women’s hostel per district, and district hospital modernizations will drive local growth. Yadav highlighted these during a post-budget dialogue with experts at Daly College, Indore, noting widespread acclaim across sectors.
The textiles sector stands out as a boon for the state. Reforms and the PM Mitra Park initiative are set to generate three lakh jobs and benefit six lakh farmers, propelling the Malwa-Nimar region to new heights. Coupled with fiscal prudence like a 4.3% deficit target, Rs 1.4 lakh crore state grants, income tax simplification for small taxpayers, bio-pharma hubs, clinical trial expansions, affordable critical drugs, and elder care ecosystems, the budget fortifies manufacturing, R&D, and AI adoption.
Tourism gains momentum too, with guides at iconic sites, access to protected archaeological treasures, and tax relief for foreign visitors enhancing global appeal and employment. Yadav extended greetings from Madhya Pradesh residents to Modi and Sitharaman, affirming this third Modi 3.0 budget as a testament to inclusive, forward-looking governance. It positions India as a global manufacturing and heritage hub while ensuring balanced prosperity.
