Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Friday visited the ophthalmology ward on the 11th floor of Hamidia Hospital’s Block 2 in Bhopal to meet children and citizens injured in recent carbide gun incidents. He enquired personally about their health, interacted with medical specialists, and directed that every patient receive the best possible care. He instructed officials to extend aid to victims under the Chief Minister’s Swachchhand Nidhi and to maintain continuous monitoring of all medical cases across the state.
Dr. Yadav reaffirmed that no lapse in treatment or support would be tolerated, and issued strict instructions for sustained police raids and investigations at the local level against the illegal manufacture and sale of carbide guns. Emphasizing public safety, he reiterated his earlier directive of zero tolerance toward the possession and use of such hazardous devices.
Among those he met were adolescents injured in different incidents, Prashant Malviya from Nariyalkheda, Karan Panthi from Garib Nagar Chhola, Arish from Bhanpur, and Ansh Prajapati from Parvaliya Sadak. While Arish sustained injuries due to others using a carbide gun, the others admitted to having handled the device themselves.
The Chief Minister also interacted with family members of the victims, who expressed gratitude for the medical attention being provided. They described the use of carbide guns as a regrettable mistake and urged others in their communities to avoid the dangerous trend. Karan Panthi’s family mentioned that residents of Garib Nagar have now become aware of the risks, and no one in the locality is using the device anymore.
Health Principal Secretary Sandeep Yadav and Commissioner of Public Relations Deepak Kumar Saxena accompanied Dr. Yadav during the hospital visit. His presence and assurance reflected the administration’s commitment to both empathy and enforcement, care for the injured, and vigilance against the cause.
