Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, health services in Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur district are undergoing a historic transformation. The government has announced the establishment of the Satya Sai Mother and Child Hospital in Farsabahar, with five acres of land already earmarked for the project. Until the permanent structure is complete, the Satya Sai Trust will operate the facility temporarily from the local Community Health Centre, ensuring that quality care begins without delay.
Chief Minister Sai made the announcement during the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Shivir held in Farsabahar. He explained that the Raipur based Satya Sai Hospital has earned national acclaim for its compassionate and cashless service model, offering free pediatric cardiac treatment to over forty thousand children. “There is no cash counter in this hospital, only service,” he remarked, lauding its spirit of selfless humanitarianism. Inspired by this ethos, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the Raipur hospital in person, following his discussions with the Chief Minister.
Responding to the Chief Minister’s appeal, the Satya Sai Trust decided to extend its services to the tribal heartland of Jashpur. The new hospital will provide advanced maternal and pediatric cardiac care free of cost, serving not only Jashpur but also adjoining border districts of Odisha and Jharkhand. For the region’s rural and tribal families, often cut off from specialized urban healthcare, this facility will function as a lifeline.
Since assuming office in December 2023, Chief Minister Sai has accelerated the expansion of medical infrastructure across the district. The long awaited Kunkuri Medical College is now under development with a budget of Rupees 32 crore and an initial 220 bed hospital sanctioned for operation. Construction of the Jagdev Ram Oraon Memorial Hospital at Jashpur is progressing with state of the art emergency and scanning facilities. Maternity and neonatal hospitals, a nursing and physiotherapy college, and a free dialysis center at Kunkuri are further strengthening the district’s healthcare network.
By integrating compassionate service with modern infrastructure, the government’s initiatives under Chief Minister Sai are turning Jashpur into a model of inclusive health reform. With the arrival of the Satya Sai Hospital, the tribal region will not only gain access to world class healthcare but will also embody the ideal that service to humanity is the highest form of devotion.
