Haryana Youth Praise Uttarakhand’s Tourism, Homestays and Connectivity

Dehradun, October 3, 2026: A group of young visitors from Haryana, on a three-day tour of Uttarakhand, met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s residence and shared their experiences of the state’s development initiatives.

The visitors praised Uttarakhand’s work in connectivity, tourism, homestays, solar energy, border-area development and welfare schemes. They said the tour gave them an opportunity to understand different parts of Uttarakhand and observe how government initiatives are affecting local communities.

Visitors Highlight Development Initiatives

The Haryana youth said that despite Uttarakhand’s largely mountainous terrain, the state has made notable progress in expanding road and digital connectivity. They also noted that work is progressing rapidly to expand railway connectivity.

They particularly appreciated the state’s clean environment and better air quality. The visitors said support for homestays is helping create new self-employment opportunities for local residents.

They also highlighted infrastructure development in border areas and efforts by the Centre and the state government to improve facilities for local communities in remote regions.

The visitors said improved connectivity and tourism facilities were clearly contributing to a growing number of pilgrims and tourists. They described the rooftop solar scheme as a useful initiative suited to Uttarakhand’s geographical conditions.

Youth Called Digital Brand Ambassadors

Welcoming the group, Dhami said the principle of “Atithi Devo Bhava” is an integral part of Uttarakhand’s culture and traditions.

He said inter-state exposure visits allow young people to understand India’s cultural diversity, innovative work being undertaken in different states and effective models of development. Such visits also encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences among states.

Dhami asked the visitors to share what they had seen, understood and experienced during their three-day Uttarakhand tour with friends and through social-media platforms.

“You are also Uttarakhand’s digital brand ambassadors,” the Chief Minister told the group.

He said young people can help introduce Uttarakhand’s culture, tourism, pilgrimage destinations, local products, homestays, millets, handicrafts and the work of women’s self-help groups to audiences across the country.

Strengthening Inter-State Exchange

The Chief Minister said dialogue among young people from different states helps them understand India’s diversity and learn from each other’s experiences.

He urged the Haryana visitors to share their positive experiences of Uttarakhand with young people in Haryana and help strengthen exchanges between the two states in culture, tourism, innovation and effective development practices.
