Chhattisgarh stands at a pivotal juncture in rural development, where policies transcend paper and forge tangible change on the ground. Under Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government has embraced good governance not as mere rhetoric, but as a practical ethos. Effective, transparent implementation of schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), Mahatma Gandhi NREGA, National Rural Livelihood Mission, and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana has positioned Chhattisgarh as an emerging national model for rural progress.
In Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), the state leads the nation with over 8 lakh pucca houses completed in two years. This is a milestone embodying social justice and dignified living. Chief Minister Sai views housing not just as shelter, but as the bedrock of security, stability, and self respect. By linking it to livelihoods, the government supplied centering plates and materials, empowering over 8,000 women to become Lakhpati Didis.
In Naxal affected regions, Chhattisgarh’s toughest challenge, the administration balances security with development and trust building. Skill training and rehabilitation schemes integrate youth into the mainstream. Through R SETI and Project Unnati, over 5,000 beneficiaries, including surrendered Naxals, received masonry training. Housing approvals extended to 3,416 surrendered Naxals and affected families, while PM Janman Awas Yojana sanctioned over 33,000 homes for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups. This marks a historic stride.
Transparency defines monitoring: citizens participate via toll free helplines, QR codes at panchayat levels, and digital platforms for real time project updates. Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana converge with MGNREGA, Ujjwala, Swachh Bharat, Jal Jeevan Mission, and PM Suryaghar, ensuring holistic benefits.
The Mor Gaon Mor Paani mahabhiyan symbolizes water conservation. NREGA generated over 20 crore person days in two years, approving 35,000 plus works and 10,000 plus livelihood dabris. Yuktdhara portal’s GIS based planning places Chhattisgarh among top states.
National Rural Livelihood Mission links 2.82 lakh self help groups and 30 lakh women. Lakhpati Didi drive has made 4.94 lakh women economically independent. Initiatives like Didi ke Goth radio for women’s voices and ChhattisKala brand for product marketing highlight innovation.
PM Janman sanctions 2,902 km roads, with 1,064 km completed, connecting remote tribal areas. Chhattisgarh leads nationally in these constructions. Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana completed 43 long pending roads in Naxal zones, proving development knows no boundaries.
Chief Minister Sai asserts true governance transforms lives. Integrated efforts in housing, employment, women empowerment, water conservation, and infrastructure propel Chhattisgarh toward inclusive self reliance. This transparent, innovative, people centric approach elevates the state from a region to a national rural development paragon.
