Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav unveiled the Madhya Pradesh Space Tech Policy 2026 as a transformative bridge from the state’s astronomical legacy to futuristic technological leadership, positioning the region as India’s emerging space innovation hub. Launching at the MP Regional AI Impact Conference 2026, this comprehensive framework spans the entire space ecosystem upstream satellite and launch vehicle manufacturing, midstream propulsion and avionics, downstream mission operations and AI driven data analytics fostering high skill jobs for youth amid India’s burgeoning space economy.
Ujjain ancient India’s Greenwich emerges central, its celestial heritage fusing with modern astrophysics and AI through a dedicated R&D centre for space science. Policy incentives galvanise infrastructure: space manufacturing parks, EMI/EMC testing labs, propulsion vibration facilities, clean rooms, high performance computing for satellite simulation and big data analytics. Capital subsidies up to 40% for space grade assets, design linked incentives, prototype grants, IP reimbursements, and matching funds for startups and MSMEs align with IN SPACe reforms, accelerating private participation.
Implementation vests with the Science and Technology Department, MPS EDC as nodal agency, and a single window cell streamlining investor access. Ample land, power surplus, and central connectivity compound appeal, transmuting historical stargazing into orbital enterprise. Dr. Yadav envisions Madhya Pradesh not as peripheral player but Tier 2 vanguard, where policy agility spawns self reliant innovation.
Strategic Pillars
Satellite assembly, ground stations, and situational awareness anchor upstream capabilities, while AI modelling propels downstream analytics, ensuring end to end sovereignty.
Youth Dividend
Deep tech focus promises skilled employment, weaving Ujjain’s meridian legacy into India’s space commerce ascent, proving heartland resolve fuels national frontiers.
