Dehradun, June 13, 2026: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, saying India has witnessed unprecedented progress in health and wellness over the past decade. He said the reach of Ayushman Bharat, which provides free treatment to 60 crore people, stands as one of the strongest examples of people-centric governance in the country.
Dhami said the health care reforms introduced under the current leadership have transformed access to treatment for millions of families, especially those from economically weaker sections. He noted that the expansion of affordable and free medical support has reduced the burden of health expenses for ordinary citizens and improved confidence in the public health system.
According to the chief minister, the success of Ayushman Bharat reflects a broader shift in governance, where welfare delivery is being linked with dignity, accessibility and inclusion. He said the scheme has ensured that families are no longer forced to delay treatment or fall into debt because of medical emergencies.
Dhami added that the health and wellness gains under the Modi government are part of a larger national transformation, in which India is moving toward stronger infrastructure, improved services and greater social security. He said that for a state like Uttarakhand, where geography often makes access to advanced health care difficult, such schemes carry special importance.
He also said that the health model under PM Modi has brought relief not only through insurance based treatment but also through a stronger emphasis on wellness, prevention and public health awareness. This, he noted, has helped build a more resilient and inclusive health system.
The chief minister’s remarks come as the government continues to highlight the social impact of flagship welfare schemes across the country, with Ayushman Bharat remaining one of the most visible symbols of India’s expanding health coverage.
