Dehradun, July 16, 2026: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Grace Hindusthan 2.0 Uttarakhand national wedding professionals conference, organized by the International Convention of Event Industries (ICEI) at Purnnava Wellness Resort, Kimadi, on the Mussoorie-Dehradun road.
Welcoming wedding planners, event experts, tourism entrepreneurs and guests from across the country to Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, Dhami said the conference would serve as an important platform for expanding tourism in the state, especially wedding tourism. He said that discussion among experts over the two-day event would help give new direction to tourism development in Uttarakhand.
The chief minister thanked the ICEI team and Purnnava Wellness Resort founder Acharya Ashish Semwal for organizing the event. He expressed confidence that the outcome of such deliberations would help take the state’s tourism sector to new heights.
Dhami said the state government is working continuously to turn Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Wed in Uttarakhand” into reality. He said that with support from wedding and event industry experts, Uttarakhand can be established as a leading wedding destination in India and the world.
He added that marriage in Indian culture is not merely a social event, but a sacred union of two souls. He said Uttarakhand’s spiritual, cultural and natural heritage makes such occasions even more divine, and cited the historic and religious significance of Triyuginarayan Temple, the alleged wedding site of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, as a unique identity for destination weddings in the state.
The chief minister said the government is rapidly working to develop Triyuginarayan, Omkareshwar (Ukhimath), Ramnagar, Tehri, Mussoorie and other suitable locations into world-class destination wedding centers. He noted that destination weddings create direct employment and income opportunities for local artisans, folk कलाकारs, homestay operators, taxi drivers and many small businesses, making wedding tourism an effective tool for strengthening the local economy and self-employment.
Dhami said Purnnava Wellness Resort is an excellent example of how Ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy and modern facilities can be combined to offer a world-class wellness experience. He added that the state government is promoting spiritual and wellness tourism alongside wedding tourism.
He further said the government is working on major spiritual projects such as the Kedarkhand and Manaskhand temple development and beautification plans, Haridwar-Rishikesh Corridor, Vivekananda Corridor, Goljyu Corridor, Yamuna Corridor and Sharda Corridor. He also mentioned the start of winter tourism and efforts to establish one spiritual economic zone each in the Garhwal and Kumaon regions.
Dhami said Uttarakhand is now among the most trusted states in the country because of its law and order, good governance and investor-friendly policies. He said the government is giving special emphasis to strengthening Triple R connectivity through road, rail and ropeway networks, and is committed to implementing ease of doing business in a practical way through a single-window clearance system.
ICEI office-bearers, Purnnava Wellness Resort founder Acharya Ashish Semwal, wedding planners, event and tourism experts, entrepreneurs, investors and a large number of dignitaries were present at the event.
