Uttarakhand Transfers ₹146.32 Crore in July Pensions to Nearly 9.87 Lakh Beneficiaries

Dehradun, August 8, 2026: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred ₹146.32 crore directly into the bank accounts of 9,87,017 pension beneficiaries under the Social Welfare Department at an event held at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. The payment covers the pension instalment for July 2026.

Dhami said the state government is committed to the welfare of every section of society and is ensuring that pension payments reach eligible beneficiaries in a timely and transparent manner. He said direct benefit transfer has made it easier for people to receive government assistance without delays or middlemen.

The Chief Minister added that the government’s priority is to ensure that elderly parents, widows, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable citizens do not have to make repeated visits to government offices to receive their pension. He said every eligible person should get their entitlement with dignity, on time and without unnecessary difficulty.

According to the Social Welfare Department, the payment also includes 2.15 lakh pensioners covered under the National Social Assistance Programme of the Union Ministry of Rural Development. These beneficiaries are being paid through the new SNA Sparsh system.

Pension-wise Distribution

  • Old-age pension: 6,15,628 beneficiaries received ₹92.34 crore at the rate of ₹1,500 per month.

  • Widow pension: 2,36,983 beneficiaries received ₹35.54 crore at the rate of ₹1,500 per month.

  • Disability pension: 89,128 beneficiaries received ₹13.36 crore at the rate of ₹1,500 per month.

  • Farmer pension: 27,288 beneficiaries received ₹3.20 crore at the rate of ₹1,200 per month.

  • Abandoned women’s pension: 8,284 beneficiaries received ₹99.408 lakh at the rate of ₹1,200 per month.

  • Maintenance grant: 7,383 beneficiaries received ₹51.68 lakh at the rate of ₹700 per month.

  • Teelu Rauteli pension: 2,196 beneficiaries received ₹26.35 lakh at the rate of ₹1,200 per month.

  • Dwarf pension: 127 beneficiaries received ₹1.524 lakh at the rate of ₹1,200 per month.

Dhami said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, the state government is working on the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas. He added that Uttarakhand can progress only when development reaches every section of society, particularly those who need government support the most.

Social Welfare Minister Khajan Das said the department is using digital payment systems to make pension distribution more efficient, transparent and accessible. Senior officials from the Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare departments were present at the programme.
