Dehradun, August 18, 2026: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took part virtually in the third high-level monitoring meeting of the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT), chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi.
The meeting reviewed the progress of major industrial corridor projects across the country, along with timelines for implementation and the development of essential infrastructure.
During the meeting, Dhami presented an update on the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC), Khurpia, being developed in Uttarakhand. He said the state government is committed to establishing the project as a major centre of industrial growth and ensuring its timely, high-quality and successful development.
The Chief Minister said the entire 1,002-acre project land has been placed under the control of NUITL and that there are currently no obstructions at the site. This, he said, has created the necessary foundation for construction work to proceed according to schedule.
Dhami informed the meeting that the EPC contract for IMC Khurpia was signed on March 20, 2026, and construction has already begun. A total of 24.1 kilometres of right of way has been cleared and handed over to the EPC contractor. Road construction and other essential infrastructure works are now progressing at the site.
He said the state government is also coordinating the widening of approximately 10.7 kilometres of the Nagla-Kichha SH-44 into a four-lane road. The upgraded route is expected to improve access to the manufacturing cluster and support faster industrial activity in the surrounding region.
Reliable power supply is another key component of the project. Dhami said PITCUL is coordinating the timely construction of a 400/220 kV substation to ensure uninterrupted electricity for industries that will come up at IMC Khurpia.
The Chief Minister said the trunk infrastructure works of the project are proposed to be completed by December 2028. He directed officials to closely monitor every stage, maintain effective coordination between departments and ensure that construction progresses with both speed and quality.
Dhami sought continued cooperation from the Government of India and the special purpose vehicle formed by NICDIT/NICDC for the timely completion of the project. He said coordinated efforts by the Centre and Uttarakhand government would help develop IMC Khurpia as a modern, competitive and investment-friendly industrial hub.
He expressed confidence that the cluster would create new opportunities for investment, employment and economic activity and give a fresh direction to Uttarakhand’s industrial development. He added that the state is working in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by building modern industrial infrastructure.
Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey and other departmental officials attended the virtual meeting.
