Chamoli, July 2026: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken immediate cognisance of the damage caused by a disaster to the road connecting Khainuri village in the Dasoli development block of Chamoli district and directed the District Magistrate along with concerned officials to repair it on priority and restore smooth traffic movement.
Villagers from Khainuri contacted the Chief Minister by phone and informed him that the road linking their village had been badly damaged due to the disaster. They said nearly 120 families are facing serious difficulties in commuting because of the disruption.
After hearing the villagers’ concerns, Dhami instructed the officials to take necessary action without delay. He said the damaged road should be repaired on a priority basis so that safe and uninterrupted movement can be ensured for the villagers. He also asked the administration to assess the situation on the ground and take all required steps accordingly.
The Chief Minister said that timely and effective resolution of every citizen’s problem is a top priority for the state government. He added that there should be no unnecessary delay in restoring roads, drinking water, electricity and other essential services in disaster-hit areas. Departments concerned, he said, must work in coordination to ensure that public facilities are restored at the earliest.
Dhami further directed officials to deal sensitively with the problems of people in disaster-affected regions. He said special attention should be given to complaints coming from rural and remote areas, and those grievances should be resolved quickly so that locals do not suffer unnecessary hardship.
He said the state government is working with sensitivity on public issues and that the responsibility of the administration is to respond immediately to public concerns with visible action on the ground. Restoring normal life in disaster-affected areas, he added, remains one of the government’s key priorities.
