Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has declared that enhancing farmers’ incomes remains the government’s core mission, achievable only by boosting crop production and productivity. Over one crore farmers in the state will benefit from declaring 2026 as Kisan Kalyan Varsh (Agriculture Year) under the theme Samriddh Kisan-Samriddh Pradesh. This initiative focuses on robust marketing for agricultural produce, food processing expansion, high-yield seeds, digital and modern farm mechanization, natural and organic farming, agri-startups, FPOs, district-based clusters, and crop diversification.
Agriculture Cabinets will convene across districts, starting in the Nimar region, to make field-level decisions for farmer welfare. Yadav highlighted how farming in Nimar has greened the landscape, lowered temperatures by four degrees, and drawn more farmers through expanded irrigation, underscoring agriculture’s environmental and economic gains.
Technology integration takes center stage. Agri Stack will deliver benefits via linked bank accounts and Aadhaar, with mobile and QR code-based input traceability. Pashupalaks will travel to Brazil for advanced dairy techniques to double milk production using superior breeds. Primary Cooperative Credit Societies (PACS), numbering over 4,500 and serving 23 lakh farmers, will facilitate Kisan Credit Cards through camps.
Festivals will spotlight key crops: Bhopal’s Aam Mahotsav in May for mango expertise; Balaghat’s Singhada-Makhana Mahotsav in September for nutrient-rich water chestnuts and fox nuts; Narsinghpur’s Ganna Mahotsav in November with drip irrigation push to expand sugarcane area by 5,000 hectares. The state-level Central Quality Lab inauguration will curb milk adulteration, enhancing Sanchi brand trust.
This roadmap integrates sustainability, technology, and markets to empower farmers, ensuring prosperity flows from fields to families across Madhya Pradesh.
